Welsh Government ”Circuit Breaker” Statement

Dear Member Clubs & Affiliated organisations,

Following the First Ministers announcement on the Circuit Breaker lockdown this afternoon, it is regrettable that all Aquatic activity will cease from 6pm Friday 23rd October until Monday 9th November.

After 7 months of hard work and dedication behind the scenes to support your clubs and your members to return to the water safely, we appreciate that this will be frustrating for many of you. We have collaborated well as an aquatic community, we have demonstrated high levels of resilience and we have the tools and skills to get through the next few weeks. This will be a short disruption to your activity and we encourage you to keep in touch with your operators. We will now increase our usual levels of support across all of our partners through the usual channels.

In response to this announcement, we have revised the Swim Wales Super Series WHICH WILL START TODAY AS PLANNED and more communications will follow this week re the Swim Wales 2020 Annual Awards.

Please stay positive and safe, and we look forward to seeing everyone back in the water very soon.

Simon Clarke

Head of Aquatic Development

For the Heads of the Valley Swimming Club – last session will be on Thursday evening.

Hopefully when we do get back into the pool, it will be in Ebbw Vale Leisure Centre.

There will be more details posted when we have a confirmed date for return to swimming.
